Red Ink Studios moves!

Red Ink Flint is proud to introduce its new home – at the Capitol Theater building!

Red Ink Flint will be occupying approximately 5,500 square feet in the main level of the Capitol Theater building on the Harrison Street side of the building. In addition, artists may utilize a portion of the basement of the building and the arcade space may be part of larger exhibitions. The galleries are accessible from Harrison Street. Several studio spaces will be occupied on the main level. Patrons visiting the galleries will likely be able to observe the artists at work and view their studios.

Red Ink Flint artist and staff, look forward to being located closer to the downtown area and participating in ArtWalk in upcoming months. There will not be space for new artists initially, but changes to the artists’ term will allow for more frequent artist turnover, providing opportunities for studio space, professional development, and exhibition space to more artists in the community.

Red Ink Flint moved out of its former location next to the Flint Farmers’ Market in March. After exploring multiple options, within the target area of downtown Flint, the group is excited to return to normal operations in the Capitol Theater building.

The Red Ink Flint gallery will be open to the public as following an Open House tentatively scheduled for June 5, 2009. Gallery hours will be Tuesday – Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm.

For more information, contact Red Ink Flint at (810) 232-1354 or email info@redink-flint.org. The Capitol Theatre Building is located at 600 Harrison Street on the corner of Harrison and Second Street.
