We had two neigborhood meetings this week. The first was a planning meeting for this years GTDNA Fall Family Fest (Sept. 19, 3pm-6pm). The second was a meeting about the drug houses/activity, code enforcement, sidewalks, lighting, and ordinances. There are at least eight drug houses in our neighborhood. This is a lot in such a small area. Some of them are in condemned housing that the landlord still rents out. Some are in houses owned by retired law enforcement who live out of state. Some have been operating since 1989! We're trying to work with the city of Flint, which is under resourced and overwhelmed. It's an uphill battle; one we need to win.

We're also less than three weeks away from the end of the Summer programs (daycamp & picnics in the park). So while we wrap up these programs we're working on Fall planning. Soon the Fall will be passing by and we'll be neck deep in Christmas kettles.
