We're getting a lot done here, though sometimes the day seems to drag by due to being indoors quite a bit. On Monday I went to the Keep Genesee County Beautiful meeting about the gateway gardens. There are a whole bunch of groups working all over the city to keep these gardens maintained and looking good. We hope it serves as an inspiration to people who drive by to be good stewars of the land and especially the city. Just like last year, we are working on the I69 downtown gateway (the portion on 9th Street from Saginaw to Church Streets). Our first clean up is Tuesday April 27th at 6:30pm.

We're also working with the neighborhood to get a list of neighborhood projects that we can potentially tackle this Spring/Summer.

We will be doing trash pick up through the Clean & Green program with The Landbank and Genesee Habitat for Humanity. We're working on a scheule for that.

We're participating in neighborhood gardening every other Saturday with the next one happening at Memorial Park on May 1st (10am).

"Live @ The Sal" is going well. We always have a good crowd of people, and great bands. The next shows are going to be in May. April 30th is canceled due to a schedule conflict with a band.

Monday night bible study is losing steam though. Some nights no one shows up. It is the end of the semester though, and there are other factors at play.

We're about to start a new bible study for young married/families on Thursday nights (most likely). This came at the request of my friend Lauren who had recently started to come back to Christianity after growing up in what sounded like a fundamental/legalistic type of christian church. She's looking for a place where she can ask questions, criticize the faith while looking for answers to her criticisms, and have her kids there. So we're hoping to launch this real soon. We'll be using the material called "Starting Point". Lauren is also married to my friend Chris who has done all my tattoo work.

So things are pretty busy around here. We're going to begin to promote the Sal co-op house idea around campus and elsewhere in hopes of gathering six people to give a year beginning this Fall. There is a possibility of a more low-key summer ministry team, but I am not sure.

Rachel is back to work (3 days a week) and my mom is watching Hannah on those days. We're fortunate to have jobs with flexable hours and to live so close to home. Today I am meeting Rachel and Hannah at the neighborhood meeting. On Saturday, Rachel and Hannah are going to be down at The Sal for Mommy Cafe' while I ride my bike over to Mott for the Neighborhood Action and Public Safety Summit. So, this is how life is. I love it. I justy wish I had more time and energy to devote to getting work done on the house.
